A Knighthood for Jimmy Page?

Well, if Elton John can have one…

..but seriously, this might become a reality with enough support! All because of Tory MP Louise Mensch, the wife of Jimmy Page’s former manager Peter Mensch (who also works for the company that manages Metallica…). She’s apparently been campaigning for the knighthood of the former Led Zeppelin guitarist.

Mrs Mensch actually denies that her connection through her husband has any influence, citing Page’s charity work in Brazil, the Led Zeppelin concert in Greenwich (which raised over £100,000 for charity), or his support of such charitable organisations as Childline.

Yes, we all know he’s been very active on the charity front, but surely he should get a knighthood solely based on the undeniable FACT that he is a rock guitar god?! I know I’d vote for that…
